Visionix USA Introduces Topography Module for Optovue Solix OCT Systems

Visionix USA announced the introduction of its new Topography Module for the Optovue Solix FullRange and Solix Essential OCT/OCT-A systems. This feature integrates topography with OCT and OCT-A, making the Optovue Solix systems a multimodal solution for comprehensive eye assessments.

The new Topography Module is designed to deliver precise corneal measurements, facilitating improved outcomes for contact lens fittings and refractive surgery planning, according to Visionix. In addition, the module enables early detection of keratoconus through its detailed topographic and epithelial analysis capabilities.

According to Visionix, key features and benefits of the new topography module include:

• Precise corneal measurements: Essential for accurate contact lens fitting and refractive surgery planning
• Early keratoconus detection: Through advanced topography and epithelial analysis, the system detects early signs of keratoconus with enhanced precision
• Comprehensive corneal assessment: The OCT Topography feature provides a full evaluation of both the anterior and posterior surfaces of the cornea while distinguishing epithelial cells and stromal layers
• Postoperative monitoring: The module allows for efficient tracking of corneal healing and refractive power outcomes using the same data set
• FullRange cornea and anterior chamber morphology: Enhanced capabilities for a detailed view of the corneal and anterior chamber structure
• Customizable reporting: The system offers six customizable maps, including anterior/posterior axial, tangential, power, and elevation tomography maps, ensuring a versatile and in-depth analysis

The Optovue system is the only device that offers both anterior and posterior multimodal assessments while being FDA-cleared for OCT-A metrics, according to Visionix.
