Topcon Partners with OKKO Health to Advance Home-Based Vision Monitoring and Patient Engagement

Topcon Healthcare announced an investment in OKKO Health, a UK-based provider of vision testing software. While financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, the investment positions Topcon as the lead in OKKO Health’s seed funding round. 

OKKO Health's home vision monitoring platform is designed to run on a patient’s personal smartphone—requiring no external hardware. The platform blends advanced vision science, data analytics, and gamified experiences, allowing patients to monitor their eye health between clinic visits. This self-monitoring approach is designed to support early detection of subtle vision changes and encourages timely re-engagement with eye care professionals when intervention may be needed.

According to Topcon, the investment bolsters its “Healthcare from the Eye” initiative, which uses ocular data to monitor eye disease and systemic conditions. The company’s cloud-based platforms aim to make eye care more predictive, personalized, and accessible.
