Topcon Offers Maestro2 OCT Certification Course

Topcon Healthcare has announced the new Maestro2 OCT Certification Course. This free course is currently available to all Maestro2 owners and provides an opportunity for technicians to earn continuing education (CE) credits while honing their OCT skills.¹
Studies have shown that certified Allied Ophthalmic Professionals (AOP) contribute more than non-certified personnel to the efficiency and quality of care in a practice,² according to Topcon. The new Maestro2 Certification Course allows practice owners to provide comprehensive training for their staff and equip them with the resources needed to grow professionally. Up to three technicians per clinic can participate in the course and learn how to improve efficiency and productivity with the Maestro2 Robotic OCT + Color Fundus Camera.
The course covers a variety of topics including how to operate the Maestro2 OCT, tips for capturing higher quality scans, basic retinal and optic nerve anatomy, and common retinal and optic nerve diseases. Upon completion of the course, participants will receive 2 IJCAHPO credits.³
“The new Maestro2 OCT Certification Course reflects Topcon’s commitment to provide value-added benefits for our customers. In addition to developing an exceptional OCT + Fundus Camera, Topcon is equipping ophthalmic professionals with the tools they need to get the most out of their instrument, while at the same time earning free CE credits without having to physically attend a meeting or event. We are proud to bring this innovative course to the marketplace and to partner with eye care providers as they seek to continually enhance the quality of care in their clinics,” Catharine Chisholm, PhD, MCOptom, FBCLA, Global Director of Topcon Healthcare University, said in a company news release.
