Tangible Science Announces CEO Transition

Tangible Science, a provider of specialty contact lens technology, announced that Karen Havenstrite, PhD, MBA, co-founder and former Chief Technology Officer, has been appointed Chief Executive Officer.

Dr. Havenstrite suceeds Victor McCray, MD, who will transition to the role of Executive Chairman of the Board. Dr. McCray, who led the company for 12 years, is stepping down to embark on the next chapter of his professional journey. 

"Vic has been instrumental in establishing Tangible Science as a leading innovator in specialty contact lenses," Richard Kashnow, Former Chairman of the Board, said in a company news release. "His strategic vision has positioned the company as a worldwide leader in contact lens technologies, serving manufacturers, practitioners, and patients. The board is deeply grateful for his outstanding leadership and lasting contributions."

Dr. Havenstrite, who co-founded Tangible Science and invented the company's Hydra-PEG coating technology, has been with the company since its inception. "The board unanimously agrees that Karen is the ideal leader to guide Tangible Science through its next phase of growth," said Mr. Kashnow. "Her deep technical expertise, proven leadership capabilities, and strong industry relationships will ensure a seamless transition."
