Spectrum Ophthalmics Launches New Range of Dry Eye Products

Spectrum Ophthalmics has launched a new range of dry eye products in the UK. The products include the OptiClear IPL for the treatment of dry eye disease (DED), and a 3nethra classic HD fundus camera for the diagnosis of DED.
The OptiClear IPL uses light energy to rejuvenate Meibomian glands, unblocking the glands and relieving symptoms. Just four treatments are required, according to Spectrum, and it is suitable for patients up to age 80+.

The 3nethra classic HD fundus camera captures high-resolution, undistorted images of the retina and surfaces such as the cornea to assist clinicians with accurate DED diagnosis.
“We are thrilled to announce the launch of our dry eye range. We firmly believe these clinically proven products will enhance the care clinicians offer their patients, managing care from start to finish and allowing for better results," David Killengray, Managing Director at Spectrum, said in a company news release.
“Providing a solution to dry eye, rather than the use of eye drops which are only ever temporary, the OptiClear IPL machine is cost-effective and clinic friendly, and with no additional consumable costs or click fees, allows for a quick return on investment. The 3nethra classic HD fundus camera is also well worth purchasing too, opening up the opportunity to diagnose DED symptoms early and accurately," Mr. Killengray said.
The company has made an immediate start and the first OptiClear IPL machine is in use in Newbury, England by optometrist Valarie Jerome, OD.
