Samsara Vision Promotes Jason Herod to Chief Commercial Officer

Samsara Vision announced that Jason Herod, formerly Vice President Commercial, International Markets, has been promoted to Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), effective August 15, 2024. 

Mr. Herod joined Samsara Vision in August 2021, bringing with him over 24 years of extensive experience in the ophthalmic medical device, pharmaceutical, and over-the-counter (OTC) sectors. Throughout his career, he has held numerous key roles, including sales management, country and regional marketing, and general management. Prior to joining Samsara Vision, Mr. Herod was the Franchise Head for Europe, Middle East, Africa, and Russia at Alcon. 

Based in Geneva, Switzerland, Mr. Herod will continue to support the European rollout of the company’s flagship product, the SING IMT (Smaller-Incision New-Generation Implantable Miniature Telescope). This intraocular telescope (IOT) is designed to improve vision for older adults suffering from late-stage age-related macular degeneration (AMD). In addition to overseeing the European market, he will work closely with the company’s executive team to expand the availability of the SING IMT in other global markets and provide oversight for the ongoing U.S. clinical trial.
