Optos Launches Silverstone RGB Retinal Imaging Technology

Optos announced the launch of Silverstone RGB. Building on its flagship Silverstone platform, the new system is designed to deliver a suite of nine imaging modalities in a single device, establishing a new benchmark in retinal imaging technology.
“Silverstone RGB represents a transformative step forward for eye care professionals,” said Masayuki Numako, Director & Executive Vice President, Head of Healthcare Business Division, Nikon Europe B.V. “By combining 200° single-shot ultra-widefield optomap technology, true-to-life color accuracy, and advanced swept-source OCT, clinicians can evaluate retinal pathology with unparalleled confidence and efficiency.”
According to Optos, Silverstone RGB offers the broadest spectrum of retinal imaging capabilities available today, empowering clinicians to capture, visualize, and analyze pathology across every layer of the retina. The nine imaging modalities include:
optomap color RGB — for true-to-life retinal color imaging
optomap color RG — the proven clinical standard supported by more than 3,000 peer-reviewed studies
optomap fluorescein angiography (FA) — for vascular evaluation and disease detection
optomap indocyanine green angiography (ICG) — for enhanced choroidal and vascular imaging
optomap Sensory Red-Free — for highlighting nerve fiber and vascular structures
optomap Choroidal Imaging — for deep tissue visualization
optomap Green Autofluorescence (AF) — for identifying RPE changes and metabolic activity
optomap Blue Autofluorescence (AF) — for visualizing subtle retinal pathology
Swept-Source OCT — for high-resolution, navigable imaging anywhere in the retina
Debut at AAO 2025
Silverstone RGB will make its global debut at the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) annual meeting in Orlando, Florida, beginning October 18, 2025, and will be available immediately in direct markets. For more information about Optos and the Silverstone RGB system, visit www.optos.com.
