Ophtec Launches Precizon Go IOL for Enhanced Intermediate Vision

Ophtec announced the launch of the Precizon Go, a hybrid acrylic IOL designed to provide distance and enhanced intermediate vision.
The lens is designed to offer natural vision at far and enhanced intermediate vision, without compromising the quality of vision at any distance. Precizon Go has a true non-diffractive design with a smooth continuous surface; no compromise in distance vision; and no visual artifacts, according to Ophtec. The IOL is implanted with the IOLMATIC injector system—with 2 clicks the injector is connected to the lens holder, loaded with the IOL and ready to use.
“With Precizon Go, we close the gap between our monofocal and presbyopic cataract lenses. Now we offer doctors a comprehensive portfolio for any cataract challenge—for monofocal vision, enhanced intermediate vision, and full range of vision” Úrsula Jaén, PhD, product specialist at Ophtec, said in a company news release.
Professor Youngsub Eom, MD, PhD, from the Korean University College of Medicine and Ansan Hospital performed one of the first surgeries in the marketing study. “The aspherical profile of the Precizon Go IOL is a stroke of genius. It provides excellent far and intermediate vision without causing dysphotopsia and corrects the corneal positive spherical aberration according to the pupil size," Prof. Eom said.
Precizon Go received the CE mark in September. Precizon Go is now available in the EU, South-Africa and South-Korea. Ophtec said more countries will be added in the first half of 2024.
