Oertli Launches Updated Faros Surgical Platform
Oertli has updated its Faros surgical platform with new LED technology. The compact device for anterior and posterior segment surgery provides 45% more light output, and ensures optimal illumination and visualization, according to a company news release.
Oertli’s Faros device performs cataract, vitrectomy, and glaucoma surgery. The precise flow control of the peristaltic pump is designed to make the surgeon’s work simple and safe. The unique SPEEP pump makes both flow and vacuum easily controllable. Switching between the two pump systems is possible at any time via the pedal or screen.
The new power LED light source offers 45% more light output1 for optimized illumination and visualization during all maneuvres, extending as far as the periphery. The extended control range from high to low lumens enables increased patient and user safety through reduced phototoxic exposure.2 At low lumens, the Faros is ideal in combination with 3D microscopes, according to Oertli.
This new Power LED light source can be upgraded on existing Faros devices and can be experienced with all light instruments from 20 to 27G.
