Nidek Receives CE Mark Approval for Preloaded IOL Injection System

Nidek has received CE Mark for the NP-1/NP-1C Preloaded IOL Injection System, a fully preloaded injection system with an aspheric hydrophobic soft acrylic lens designed for smoother, safer, and secure IOL implantation.

The NP-1/NP-1C injector is developed for smooth, controlled delivery of the lens. This system is designed to allow for a simple two-step process involving filling the viscoelastic material and pressing the plunger for quick and easy operation. The dual silicone ring on the plunger ensures optimal and constant resistance allowing stable, consistent and safe IOL delivery.

The NP-1/NP-1C is preloaded with the Aktis SP IOL that incorporates stable lens material and innovative lens design, according to Nidek. The optimized length and 90° haptic design (Anchor Wing Loop) increase the contact area with the capsular bag, resulting in stable, well-centered IOL implantation.

The NP-1/NP-1C is available in a wide range of powers from 1.0 D to 30.0 D, and can all be delivered with the same system and the same technique.

The injection system is available in Japan and other parts of Asia, and will now be available in Europe.
