NextGen Healthcare Expands Eye Care Solutions Through Strategic Alignment with Eyefinity

NextGen Healthcare said it is enhancing its suite of offerings for optometrists and ophthalmologists through a new alignment with Eyefinity, a VSP Vision company.

According to NextGen, the new collaboration will deliver a more unified clinical and retail experience, enabling seamless data integration between NextGen Enterprise EHR (electronic health record), NextGen Enterprise PM (practice management), and Eyefinity’s optical and retail systems.

The partnership introduces a series of advanced integrations designed to improve efficiency and elevate the patient experience across the eyecare continuum:

• Seamless integration with VSP Vision Care

• Real-time eligibility verification, benefits access, and claims submission for VSP-insured patients

• Inventory tracking for frames and optical products

• Point-of-sale (POS) functionality to streamline retail operations

• Integrated lab ordering for faster and more accurate fulfillment

The alignment builds on NextGen Healthcare’s ongoing investment in specialty-specific innovation. Last year, the company launched NextGen Ambient Assist, an AI-driven ambient listening solution tailored to ophthalmology and optometry workflows, designed to reduce documentation burdens and enhance clinical efficiency.
