New Company TearRestore Launches Reusable Heat Packs to Target the Meibomian Glands
New company TearRestore is seeking to simplify warm compress treatment by offering the proprietary TearRestore product. The product utilizes specially designed reusable heat packs to target the Meibomian glands while not hindering the users vision throughout treatment. The result is a consistently therapeutic treatment that allows the user to continue their daily routine.
“It is easy to understand the poor compliance associated with [warm compress treatment] if you consider that when performed daily, a patient will spend almost 4 full days a year blindfolded while performing a minimally effective treatment,” TearRestore stated in a company news release.
TearRestore was developed in a graduate program at University of Minnesota with the support of the National Science Foundation. The company
TearRestore launched on October 1, 2020. For more information, visit tearrestore.com/
