Moria Expands its Footprint into Eye Surgery by Acquiring Alchimia SRL
France-based Moria has announced the acquisition of Italian-based company Alchimia SRL, a manufacturer of devices for ophthalmic surgery and human tissue banking.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Founded in 1993, Alchimia has 30 years of expertise in chemical, microbiological and pharmacological field for posterior and anterior segments of the eye, and relies on a network of over 60 distributors worldwide. Products include silicone oils, perfluorocarbons, dyes and human tissue banking media.
"This acquisition fits perfectly with Moria strategy and completes Moria existing ranges of products for vitreoretinal surgery and keratoplasty. The aim is to further expand existing positions on those market segments," Moria stated in a news release.
