Microsurgical Technology (MST) Announces Global Partnership with Vista Ophthalmics

Microsurgical Technology (MST) announced an exclusive global partnership with ophthalmic device company Vista Ophthalmics that will introduce Vista Ophthalmics' products—Vista 1-Step and Vista IS—to the global market. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The Vista 1-Step, a 27-gauge, 14.5mm needle-point vitrector, is designed for a seamless introduction through the sclera, eliminating the need for MVR blades or trocars. Featuring a dual blade cutter, it delivers up to 11,000 cuts per minute. Accompanying the Vista 1-Step is the Vista IS, an anterior chamber maintainer designed to enhance infusion during vitreous removal, improving overall surgical efficiency and safety.
Houston-based Vista Ophthalmics, founded by ophthalmologist Jeff Whitsett, MD, is dedicated to creating surgical tools that add value in the operating room. Dr. Whitsett stated, “
"MST was our first choice for partner. They have a great reputation and strong history of supporting surgeons and making excellent products, which I use in my operating room," Jeff Whitsett, MD, founder of Houston-based Vista Ophthalmics, said in a company news release.
“We are thrilled to join forces with Vista Ophthalmics as their exclusive global partner. This collaboration enhances our portfolio with cutting-edge, surgeon-inspired products that we believe will significantly benefit our surgical community," said Yash Singh, CEO and President of MST.
MST plans to debut the Vista line at the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) conference in October, with an international launch to follow in the coming months.
