Report: Mass. Eye And Ear Employee Tests Positive For Coronavirus

A health care worker at Massachusetts Eye and Ear tested positive for coronavirus, the Boston Public Health Commission confirmed Saturday. The hospital said they are contacting everyone who may have been exposed, according to a CBS Boston report.

“As Coronavirus spreads across the globe, it has become inevitable that health care workers will be exposed to COVID-19, as is now the case for a Mass. Eye and Ear healthcare professional,” the hospital said in a statement.

In addition, Massachusetts Eye and Ear released COVID-19 guidelines on its homepage, stating that as the COVID-19 outbreak continues to evolve, the hospital is moving to reschedule elective and non-urgent care to ensure the safest possible environment for patients and staff. It is also implementing new visitor policies, including reducing the number of visitors and restricting entrances to better control and screen people who are coming through the doors.
