Lumibird Introduces ABSolu–ICL Guru Integration for Next-Level ICL Sizing at ESCRS

Lumibird Medical announced an enhancement to its ABSolu ultrasound platform, unveiling a new option that seamlessly integrates with ICL Guru (REVAI platform) to streamline and improve implantable collamer lens (ICL) sizing. The launch was officially presented at the ESCRS Congress in Copenhagen and is available to eye care professionals starting today.
According to Lumibird, at the core of this innovation is Lumibird Medical’s exclusive linear UBM 50 MHz probe, which provides anatomical precision for Sulcus-to-Sulcus (STS) measurements. Unlike traditional White-to-White (WTW) methods, STS measurements more accurately reflect internal ocular anatomy, a critical factor for reliable ICL sizing.
The linear UBM probe ensures perpendicular imaging of anterior segment structures, delivering superior definition of both the sulcus and iridociliary angles compared with sectorial probe technologies. This capability allows refractive surgeons to capture highly detailed images of structures behind the iris—an essential step for tailoring ICL selection to each patient’s unique ocular configuration.
With automatic STS measurement and DICOM connectivity, the ABSolu platform enables secure, direct transfer of imaging data to ICL Guru, a clinical decision-support tool used by refractive specialists. ICL Guru is designed to enhance precision in ICL sizing, vault prediction, and lens stability—especially in cases where standard WTW-based sizing is less reliable—ultimately improving postoperative outcomes.
The ABSolu–ICL Guru integration is now commercially available worldwide.
