Lighthouse Guild Presents 2023 Awards

Lighthouse Guild hosted its 2023 lecture and awards ceremony at its headquarters in New York on October 19. The awards recognize outstanding accomplishments in vision science, technological innovation, and advocacy.

Wiley A. Chambers, MD, was awarded The Alfred W. Bressler Prize for Outstanding Advancements in Vision Science and spoke about  “Approving New Ophthalmic Drugs.”

Saqib Shaikh won The Pisart Award in Technological Innovation award and spoke on the topic “Seeing AI: Empowering People with Vision Loss Through the Power of Technology.”

Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney was awarded the Dr. Alan R. Morse Lecture in Advocacy for people with vision impairment. She spoke about “The Importance of Advocacy for People with Disabilities.” 

The awards were presented by Calvin W. Roberts, MD, President & CEO of Lighthouse Guild.
