Kerry Solomon First in US to Implant Alcon’s Vivity IOL

Kerry Solomon, MD, partner at Carolina Eyecare Physicians, Charleston, South Carolina, is the first in the United States following FDA approval to complete surgery using Alcon’s AcrySof IQ Vivity Extended Range of Vision IOL, according to a news release.

“The Vivity lens is a remarkable advancement for vision technology. For the first time ever, it extends the range of vision without creating halos and rings post-surgery; a side effect associated with all existing multifocal lenses,” said Dr. Solomon, who is director of the Carolina Eyecare Research Institute.

Dr. Kerry Solomon was one of the only ophthalmologists in the country to have early access to Vivity for clinical trials, but broader nationwide availability will begin later this year.
