Comedian Kate Flannery has partnered with the Contact Lens Institute (CLI) to amplify a new campaign titled 'The EASY Way,' with the goal of communicating safe, effective soft contact lens wear-and-care routines.

In the the new digital campaign, Ms. Flannery, known for her role as Meredith on The Office and her time on Dancing with the Stars, delivers her trademark humor alongside practical guidance in a video that’s also available as a YouTube Short. The message is: simple and consistent communication can make a lasting difference in patient outcomes.

The EASY Way: A 3-Step Framework for Success

Now in its fifth year, The EASY Way, which stands for 'Eyes, Awareness, Safety and You,' is an initiative designed to simplify the wear-and-care conversation. With millions of soft contact lens users worldwide, and improper use still a common issue, CLI’s framework offers clarity through three essential steps:

  1. Think Clean
    Patients are reminded to wash and dry their hands before touching their lenses or eyes. For those using reusable lenses, proper cleaning and disinfection protocols—including regular lens case hygiene—are emphasized. Importantly, lenses and cases should never come into contact with water due to contamination risks.

  2. Remember Fresher is Better
    Replacing lenses as prescribed, never reusing daily disposables, and refreshing solutions for reusable lenses are key behaviors. CLI also recommends changing lens cases every 3 months to avoid microbial buildup.

  3. Trust Your Eye Doctor
    A reminder that patients should rely on their eye care professionals for guidance, and reach out with any questions or concerns. The message: you are the trusted partner in their vision journey.

“There’s no joking about contact lens health,” Ms. Flannery, who is a contact lens wearer herself, says in the campaign’s featured video. “But keeping things simple is one of the best ways to connect with people. That applies to your contact lens patients, too.”

These assets are designed for in-practice use and digital sharing, helping reinforce messages both during appointments and between visits.
