Heidelberg Engineering Launches ZinserLab Innovation Hub to Accelerate Imaging Innovation in Eye Care

Heidelberg Engineering announced the launch of the ZinserLab, an innovation hub that aims to accelerate the development of imaging technologies with clinical value for eye care. The hub is named in honor of Dr. Gerhard Zinser, the company’s late co-founder, paying tribute to his visionary leadership and enduring legacy in diagnostic innovation. 

“Gerhard Zinser was instrumental in building Heidelberg Engineering’s reputation for precision, excellence, and purpose. As a physicist and entrepreneur, he combined scientific rigor with clinical insight to bring transformative imaging solutions to ophthalmology," Arianna Schoess Vargas and Kfir Azoulay, Managing Directors of Heidelberg Engineering, stated in a company news release. "Now, also as part of the EssilorLuxottica Group, Heidelberg Engineering continues this legacy with the creation of the ZinserLab - a clear expression of our enduring commitment to innovation." 

According to Heidelberg, the ZinserLab is both a tribute to Gerhard Zinser’s heritage and a strategic commitment to tackle the challenges of tomorrow.

His spirit is exactly what we aim to carry forward”, said the newly appointed co-leaders of the ZinserLab, Dr. Sebastian Rausch, Clinical Development Manager for Investigational Technologies and Dr. Roland Rocholz, Technology and Innovation Manager.
