Hanita Lenses Launches Joint Venture with Ophthalmic Vision Care in the Iberian Peninsula

Hanita Lenses announced a new joint venture with Madrid, Spain-based Ophthalmic Vision Care (OVC), a distributor IOLs for Hanita Lenses in Spain since 2016.

The joint venture, named "Hanita Iberica," merges the assets of OVC—as a service provider of disposables and surgical equipment in the Spanish market—with the innovative products of Hanita Lenses, providing a great opportunity to Spanish doctors.

“We are thrilled to initiate this journey with Hanita Lenses. The combined effort together over the years exhibited that our shared work to promote ophthalmic products in the Spanish market is fruitful. This next step will help take our business to new heights in Spain,” said Viscente Castellanos, owner of OVC.

OVC will be initiating sales of IOLs, surgical packs, and ophthalmic viscoelastic devices (OVDs) throughout Spain and will expand to Portugal in the following years.

“This is a normal evolution given the mutual trust and the strong partnership between OVC and Hanita Lenses. We are looking forward to strengthening our position in Spain together,” said Yoram Gonen, Hanita lenses CEO.

The official signing ceremony took place on January 27, 2022 and the actual start up of the joint venture is taking place on April 1, 2022.
