Haag-Streit Announces Launch of Haag-Streit Japan

In a move to solidify its regional presence following recent expansions into China and Singapore, Haag-Streit announced the establishment of Haag-Streit Japan KK.

"Our expansion into Japan is a milestone in Haag-Streit’s international commercial expansion plan," Dr. Stefan Haag, CMO of Haag-Streit Group and Director at Haag-Streit Japan, said in a company news release. "We have had the privilege of working with our esteemed partners Japan Focus Company and RE Medical for many years, and this new venture will enable us to collaborate more closely with them while also directly engaging with our Japanese customers.”

Haag-Streit also announced that Patrick Coelen will assume the role of Country Manager for Haag-Streit Japan.

"Haag-Streit Japan will cooperate with established partners to ensure that physicians and clinics in Japan can be served even better and in a way that meets their needs. It will also serve as a hub to gather market intelligence and customer feedback to support marketing initiatives, facilitating the development of optimized solutions that uphold the highest quality standards," Haag-Streit stated in the news release. 

The distribution of Haag-Streit products in Japan will continue to be managed through its two long-term partners. RE Medical specializes in distributing Octopus perimeters, and Japan Focus Company is responsible for distributing all other Haag-Streit products in Japan, including slit lamps, biometers, and surgical microscopes.
