EyeCheq adds Jai G. Parekh, MD, to its Executive Team

EyeCheq, the developer of a fully autonomous eye screening platform using artificial intelligence (AI), announced that Jai G. Parekh, MD, FAAO, has been named Executive Vice-President and Chief Innovation Officer.

Dr. Parekh, a dual-trained internist and board-certified ophthalmologist, has extensive industry experience and leadership roles in healthcare, eye care, healthcare IT, commercialization strategy, innovation and entrepreneurship, as well as private equity. Dr. Parekh served as Chief Medical Officer, Global Eye Care, at Allergan for 5 years until it was acquired by AbbVie in 2020. Prior to this role, he served as Chief Medical Officer at 1-800-DOCTORS as well Chief Operating Officer of EyeTrans Technologies.

I see these patients every week and there remains a huge unmet need in detecting disease, particular in patients who are asymptomatic. The team is working on anterior segment eye care as well, including refractive errors, such as myopia and astigmatism.”
