Eye Health America Acquires Three Optometric Practices in the Pee Dee Region of South Carolina

Eye Health America (EHA) has added three optometric practices into its business family: David Hamill, OD, and First Vision Group (FVG); Mark Vinson, OD and Vision Care (VC); and David Johnson, OD and Marlboro Eye Care Associates (MECA). All have been providing eye care in Florence, Marion and Bennettsville, South Carolina for over 30 years.

Terms of the deal was not disclosed.

That has always been my motivation,” Dr. Johnson, owner of Marlboro Eye Care Associates, said in a news release. “I look forward to having easy access to provide our patients with tertiary eye care with Carolinas Centers for Sight in Florence.”

The partnerships with First Vision Group, Vision Care and Marlboro Eye Care support Eye Health America’s goal to build an integrated network of top eye care practices and ambulatory surgical centers across the Southeast. “These wonderful doctors and teams will strengthen our ability to deliver excellence in all-things-eyes and meet patient demand in the Pee Dee region,” said Mary Lou Parisi Co-CEO of Eye Health America. “We look forward to ensuring they have all they need to focus on what they do best; caring for patients.”

EHA has seen substantial growth in the past 18 months, and now includes 26 locations, five ambulatory surgical centers, and more than 800 employees. Since its formation in March 2018, EHA has increased its network to include 60 providers spanning optical, medical, and surgical.
