EssilorLuxottica Showcases Nuance Audio Smart Eyewear With Hearing-Aid Solution

EssilorLuxottica announced it will showcase its consumer technology at CES 2024, the Consumer Electronics Show held by the Consumer Technology Association on January 9-12 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The company is a France-based designer, manufacturer, and global distributor of eyecare and eyewear products with leading brands including Ray-Ban, Oakley, Oliver Peoples, Sunglass Hut, and LensCrafters.

At its CES booth (#8725), the company will display a prototype for Nuance Audio, a pair of glasses with advanced hearing technology built in seamlessly. The company noted that hearing solutions is an underpenetrated market where, similar to vision care decades ago when consumers are averse to wearing traditional corrective device’s for a number of reasons including their visibility, discomfort, and price.

According to the company, Nuance Audio is designed for consumers with mild to moderate hearing loss. It is intended to eliminate the psychological barrier associated with adoption of traditional hearing aids by integrating the company’s state of-the-art, open-ear hearing technology into fashionable eyeglasses. Nuance Audio is expected to launch in the market starting with North America in the second half of 2024.

The EssilorLuxottica booth will also feature Ray-Ban Meta, the company’s Ray-Ban glasses with built-in cameras, open-ear audio, artificial intelligence- (AI-) powered solutions, and the ability to livestream and take calls hands-free.

Additionally, the group’s new Helix division is featuring Vision(X), an intelligent and interconnected platform, at CES. Vision(X) is intended to help modernize eyecare practices offering a full range of innovative digital solutions including tele-optometry and big data services for the world of optics.

Nuance Audio, Ray-Ban Meta and Helix demonstrate EssilorLuxottica’s commitment to moving the eyewear industry forward into a new era of interconnected and AI-powered devices and solutions, stated the company.
