“Dr. Robert Ritch Forum on Medicine of the Future” at World Ophthalmology Congress 2018
Robert Ritch, MD, Distinguished Chair in Ophthalmology at New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai will host the “Robert Ritch Forum on Medicine of the Future” at the World Ophthalmology Congress 2018 (WOC2018) in Barcelona, Spain.
This is the first time WOC is dedicating an entire forum to groundbreaking advances in medicine that will impact the future of ophthalmology. Dr. Ritch’s forum will highlight cutting-edge technology in the fields of nanotechnology, bioengineering, and artificial intelligence.
The forum will take place Sunday, June 17, from 10:30 am-12 pm.
“The groundbreaking advancements are in the infancy stages, but will become major factors in our lives and in medicine 20 years from now. Most clinicians don’t know about these topics and it’s important to understand what the implications are for the future,” Dr. Ritch said in a news release. “Innovations include big data, tissue and organ regeneration, along with gene therapy. Nanotechnology in particular is making major advances and will permeate every aspect of our lives. Think of computers functioning at the molecular level, traveling through your bloodstream, diagnosing problems and fixing them.”
