DigitalOptometrics announced the launch of “DOT” (DigitalOptometrics Translate), a new translation service that aims to improve patient care.

“DOT” is a real-time translation technology that breaks language barriers, allowing eye care professionals to communicate with patients seamlessly in the patient’s preferred language. The service is designed to empower technicians, refractionists, and doctors to engage effectively with patients, irrespective of the patient’s native language.

"Our real-time translation technology is a game-changer for the optometric industry, enabling eye care professionals to extend their reach and provide exceptional eye care to all patients, regardless of their language," Howard S. Fried, Founder, Optometrist and President of DigitalOptometrics, said in a company news release.

The DigitalOptometrics Translate service, available in 16 languages and dialects, introduces “DOT” (DigitalOptometrics Translate), a voice translation capability in real-time. This technology opens doors for approximately 68 million Americans with English as a second language or limited language proficiency, ensuring they receive top-notch eye care and eliminating communication barriers hindering eye examinations, according to DigitalOptometrics. The DigitalOptometrics system fosters visual and verbal instant communication and removes the barrier to eye examinations for millions of patients in the United States. The company's remote optometrists are available 7 days a week.
