03/02/2026

Key Takeaways

  • Contact Lens Institute has updated The EASY Way program with expanded guidance on keeping contact lenses away from water to reinforce safe wear-and-care habits.

  • Free, multilingual patient education materials—including infographics, social media graphics and animations—are available for download

Contact Lens Institute (CLI) has announced updates to The EASY Way (Eyes, Awareness, Safety and You), its educational initiative designed to help the eye care community promote healthy contact lens wear-and-care routines among patients.

The program now includes additional guidance emphasizing the importance of keeping contact lenses away from water—a critical component of safe lens wear. The expanded patient education materials aim to reinforce best practices and reduce the risk of complications associated with water exposure.

According to The Contact Lens Institute, The EASY Way offers practice-ready resources including infographics, social media graphics, animations and other tools that eye care professionals can readily integrate into patient communications. All materials are available for free download in English, Spanish, French, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese through The EASY Way resource page at ContactLensInstitute.org.

In conjunction with the update, CLI has released two YouTube Shorts demonstrating how The EASY Way can be incorporated into new wearer insertion and removal training. The videos feature several 2026 CLI Visionaries: Kelsea Brown, OD, of MyEyeDr in Atlanta; Elaine Chen, OD, FAAO, FSLS, Dipl. AAO, of Southern California College of Optometry in Fullerton, Calif.; Ryan Corte, OD, of Reflect Vision Care in Charlotte and Asheville, N.C.; Julian Prosia, OD, of Mountain Eyecare in Hamilton, Ont.; Maria Sampalis, OD, of Sampalis Eyecare in Cranston, R.I.; and Scott Samples, FCLSA, NCLE-M, CPOT, of Dean McGee Eye Institute in Oklahoma City.

CLI members include Alcon, Bausch + Lomb, CooperVision and Johnson & Johnson Vision.
