Contact Lens Institute Opens Nominations for Second Annual Culture Awards

The Contact Lens Institute (CLI) has announced that nominations for the second annual CLI Culture Awards are now open, with submissions being accepted through October 1, 2024. This program aims to recognize eye care professionals who are committed to fostering a positive culture around contact lens usage, thereby enhancing patient experiences and driving business success, according to the CLI. The initiative is closely aligned with CLI's recent 'See Tomorrow' research reports, which highlight the significant impact of proactive and intentional practices within the eye care industry.
Eligibility for the awards is open to individuals across the US and Canadian eye care communities who are involved in prescribing or supporting soft contact lenses. Both self-nominations and nominations of others are encouraged. Detailed information regarding the nomination process can be found at contactlensinstitute.org/awards.
"The inaugural honorees brought our 'See Tomorrow' findings to life, demonstrating how intentional behaviors from everyone in a practice affect patients’ decisions to consider and continue wearing contact lenses. We are looking forward to discovering and celebrating another group of professionals who do the same—people who inspire their patients, their teams, and the entire industry to enjoy all that contact lenses offer for vision, lifestyle, and more," Stan Rogaski, Executive Director of the Contact Lens Institute, said in a news release.
To nominate a candidate, nominators must submit a concise response (750 words or less) addressing at least two of the following key questions:
- How has the nominee enhanced patient outcomes using soft contact lenses?
- What initiatives, processes, or projects has the nominee implemented to promote a positive culture for recommending soft contact lenses and ensuring patient satisfaction?
- How does the nominee engage practice staff to actively advocate for healthy and happy soft contact lens wear?
- Can you describe a specific nominee-patient interaction that highlights how soft contact lenses have improved a patient’s life, potentially inspiring colleagues?
Nominators are encouraged to reference the positive contact lens behaviors identified in the See Tomorrow reports, which are available for download on the CLI website. Nominations must include the nominee's name, location, practice name, and contact information, along with the nominator's name, affiliation, and contact details. Groups may also be nominated, provided all members are named and a leader is designated.
All submissions must be emailed to cli@contactlensinstitute.org by October 1, 2024, at 11:59 pm ET. Submissions can be included in the body of the email or attached as a Word or PDF document. Any questions can also be directed to the same email address.
The winners will be selected at the sole discretion of the CLI Board of Directors and will be announced in November 2024. These honorees will receive ongoing recognition throughout the following year.
CLI's members include industry players such as Alcon, Bausch + Lomb, CooperVision, and Johnson & Johnson Vision. For more information, visit contactlensinstitute.org.
