UK-based Centre for Sight announced the publication of an international review paper co-authored by its Medical Director, Sheraz Daya, MD, FACP, FACS, FRCS(Ed), FRCOphth, highlighting the superior stability of a Double C-Loop IOL design.

The peer-reviewed analysis, covering 19 clinical trials and 1,428 eyes, concluded that the POD Double C-Loop platform provides exceptional rotational stability, ensuring precise optical alignment and more predictable long-term visual outcomes. This feature is critical for toric lenses correcting astigmatism, where even minimal lens rotation can significantly compromise vision.

The study demonstrates that the Double C-Loop design helps minimize post-surgical lens movement, leading to:

  • Improved accuracy of visual correction

  • Reduced need for enhancements or follow-up procedures

  • Consistently sharp vision over time

“For our patients, stability means predictability—and that translates into better, long-lasting vision without the need for secondary adjustments,” said Dr. Daya. “This study reinforces that our choice of lenses is the right one: they centre well, hold their position, and provide the precision we promise. Patients benefit from fewer interventions, faster recovery, and the confidence that their vision is in safe, expert hands.”

The Double C-Loop platform offers a stable optical base that could support further innovation in refractive lens exchange and cataract surgery, Dr. Daya said.
