Bausch + Lomb Launches enVista Aspire Monofocal and Toric IOLs

10/18/2023

Bausch + Lomb announced the launch of the enVista Aspire monofocal and toric IOLs in the United States. The enVista Aspire IOLs featured B+L's Intermediate Optimized (IO) optics, which are designed for a broader depth of focus, with the benefits of the enVista platform to address patient’s vision needs in today’s modern, digital world, according to Bausch + Lomb.

Unlike conventional spherical monofocal IOLs and lower-order aspheric IOLs, enVista Aspire optics are designed to allow for a range of vision beyond one focal point. Like enVista MX60E, enVista Aspire offers a glistening-free optic material and controlled unfolding through Bausch + Lomb’s proprietary StableFlex Technology, which is designed to aid optic recovery.

“EnVista IOLs are well known by cataract surgeons who have chosen the platform for millions of patients worldwide,” Luc Bonnefoy, president, Surgical, Bausch + Lomb, said in a company news release. “The added feature of broader depth of focus makes enVista Aspire a compelling new option for the many patients who use digital devices on a daily basis.”

For patients with astigmatism, the enVista Aspire Toric IOLs feature a low cylinder design, and is the only toric IOL platform available to treat less than 1 diopter of astigmatism at the corneal plane. The AccuSet haptic design allows for rotational stability, according to Bausch + Lomb.

With its advanced aberration-free optic, the enVista family of IOLs are designed to provide a desirable compromise between depth of field and image quality.
