Bausch + Lomb announced that it has entered into a licensing agreement with Tatvum Research, a company focused on IOL development and design.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The agreement provides Bausch + Lomb with worldwide commercial rights to new IOL designs for enVista IOLs that will address astigmatism and presbyopia.
“This agreement is part of our continued investment in expanding and improving upon our IOL options for our customers and their patients,” Chuck Hess, vice president and general manager, US Surgical, Bausch + Lomb, said in a company news release. “We look forward to applying these innovative designs on our rapidly growing enVista IOLs.”
When available, these new advanced enVista IOLs, developed in partnership by the two companies, will include a series of IOLs that will correct for astigmatism and presbyopia, featuring an enhanced range of vision. Bausch + Lomb anticipates filing for regulatory approval of the lenses over the next several years.
