Bausch + Lomb Launches Arise Orthokeratology Lens System in the US

03/17/2025

Bausch + Lomb announced the US launch of Arise, a lens fitting system designed to use intelligent, cloud-based technology to streamline the orthokeratology lens design process.

Orthokeratology is a non-surgical method of vision correction that uses rigid, gas-permeable contact lenses to temporarily reshape the cornea specifically designed for individual patients. According to B+L, Arise syncs directly with the topographers to interpret 3D corneal images and recommend lens designs in quickly.

“Traditional orthokeratology lens fitting methods can be complex and time-consuming,” Yang Yang, president of Global Vision Care, Bausch + Lomb said in a recent press release. “The Arise platform’s streamlined fitting process will reduce chair time† and increase efficiency for eye care professionals.”

Bausch + Lomb also announced that this technology is designed for lens fitters of all experience levels with no specific fitting set required. It can also track patient progress using overnight outcome maps and recommended adjustments as needed.

“Arise combines all aspects of the orthokeratology process—from topography capture to lens design and more—into one seamless, user-friendly technology,” Brooke Messer, OD, FAAO, FSLS, Vance Thompson Vision, West Fargo, North Dakota said. “The ease and precision of Arise will be a welcome addition to my practice.”

Arise is now available in the US, United Kingdom, and Europe.
