Bascom Palmer Eye Institute Tops U.S. News & World Report Rankings for 24th Year in a Row

For the 24th year, Bascom Palmer Eye Institute has been ranked the No. 1 ophthalmology hospital in the United States, according to the newly released 2025 U.S. News & World Report "Best Hospitals" rankings. This marks the 22nd consecutive year that U.S. News has awarded Bascom Palmer, which is part of UHealth – University of Miami Health System, its top spot in ophthalmology.
Eduardo C. Alfonso, MD, director of Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, credited the hospital’s success to its team’s innovation and patient-focused approach. “From AI-driven imaging to groundbreaking surgical techniques, our clinicians and scientists are dedicated to improving vision for every patient we serve,” he said.
