ASRS Announces Virtual Annual Scientific Meeting July 24-26, 2020

05/13/2020

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the American Society of Retina Specialists (ASRS) has decided to hold its annual meeting online.

In a letter to membership, Timothy Murray, MD, MBA, ASRS President, and Philip Ferrone, MD, Program Chair, said that the ASRS Board of Directors has concluded that the 2020 ASRS Annual Meeting, scheduled July 24-28 in Seattle, cannot occur in person as planned.

“Knowing that the most important developments in retina are presented at our Annual Meeting, we plan to deliver the latest research to the global community using a virtual format that respects the contributions of the authors. Since many of you have already blocked out your schedules, the live streaming portion of this event will start the evening of Friday, July 24 and end the afternoon of Sunday, July 26,” the statement read.

ASRS leadership will be sending more program details in the coming week. Contributors to the scientific portion of the meeting will be receiving an email shortly with more details about submissions.

Attendees are urged to cancel hotel and transportation reservations, as needed. ASRS will begin processing refunds to all current registrants this week.
