After nearly two decades of leadership at Carl Zeiss AG, Karl Lamprecht, the current President and CEO, has announced that he will not be extending his contract, which is set to expire in the spring of 2025. Andreas Pecher was appointed the company's new President and CEO, effective April 1, 2025. Mr. Pecher has been a part of Zeiss since 2013 and has been a member of the Executive Board, overseeing the Semiconductor Manufacturing Technology (SMT) segment since 2022.

“With the appointment of Andreas Pecher, it has once again proved possible to fill the position of President and CEO from among our ranks. We are looking forward to continuing the successful development of the group together with him,” Dr. Michael Bolle, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Carl Zeiss AG, said in a company news release. “Andreas Pecher has an excellent understanding of technology and a wide range of management expertise from various leadership positions, particularly in the development and implementation of successful innovation and growth strategies.”

Mr. Pecher, who joined Zeiss as Head of Strategic Business Development for SMT, has held key leadership roles within the company, including as Head of Semiconductor Mask Solutions and Semiconductor Manufacturing Optics.

In addition to Mr. Pecher’s appointment, the Supervisory Board also named Dr. Frank Rohmund as a new member of the Executive Board and Head of the SMT segment, effective January 1, 2025.
