Ambulatory Surgery Centers Eligible For New Relief Grant Funds
The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announced that, commencing April 24, health care providers, including ASCs, will be eligible to receive grants from a newly available pool of COVID-19 relief funds, according to The Outpatient Ophthalmic Surgery Society (OOSS). These grants are a component of the $100 billion relief funds authorized by the CARES Act.
The grants would be provided in addition to the advance/accelerated payments made to your facilities earlier this month. While this prior disbursement was made automatically and funds were provided based upon past billings, the new program requires that fee-for-service providers that do not file cost reports to Medicare (like ASCs) submit revenue information from 2018 to a portal that will open on April 24. Payments will be issued weekly, on a rolling basis, as CMS validates the revenue information submitted to the agency. https://www.hhs.gov/provider-relief/index.html.
Please enter the portal on April 24 to attest to agreement with the conditions for grant relief and to provide revenue information. https://covid19.linkhealth.com/#/step/1.
