Alcon announced the Canadian launch of PRECISION7 sphere and toric, the only 1-week replacement contact lenses featuring the ACTIV-FLO System. Designed to deliver 16 hours of comfort and precise vision, even on day 7, PRECISION7 lenses will be commercially available in Canada beginning February 2, 2026, according to Alcon.
While nearly nine out of ten eye care professionals (ECPs) believe daily disposable lenses are better overall for patients, more than half of new contact lens wearers are still fit with reusable lenses due to cost considerations. At the same time, most optometrists agree that a 1-week replacement schedule would be more intuitive for patients than the traditional two-week cycle.
“Alcon is creating a new category and with PRECISION7, patients can experience the world’s first contact lens with the ACTIV-FLO System that continuously moisturizes the lens surface for seven days, offering 16 hours of outstanding comfort and precise vision with an intuitive replacement schedule," said Vanessa Johari Hansen, Country Business Unit Head, Vision Care, Alcon Canada.
With PRECISION7, patients can choose a preferred day of the week to replace their lenses, allowing them to start and end every week fresh. The launch also marks the newest addition to the Alcon WaterInnovations portfolio of contact lenses, which harnesses the power of water to deliver comfort across daily, weekly, and monthly wear schedules.
PRECISION7 sphere and toric lenses will be available in Canada beginning February 2, 2026.
