Alcon Inaugurates Company’s Largest European Eye Health Education and Training Center in Barcelona

Alcon officially opened the new Alcon Experience Center (AEC) in Barcelona, one of Europe's largest eye health education and training facilities, offering eye care professionals the opportunity to learn and gain hands-on experience with the latest innovations in ophthalmology and optometry. The new space of more than 1,700 m2, equipped with Alcon’s latest technologies, was designed to offer practical training in cataract, retina, and refractive surgery for ophthalmic surgeons, eye care professionals, students, scientific societies and Alcon associates.

"Today is an important day for us as training and education is the cornerstone of our commitment to eye care. To officially open the AEC in the presence of our partners is such an honor," said Stephan Eigenmann, Region Europe VP, Surgical Franchise at Alcon.

The AEC is comprised of a diagnostics corner, wet-lab area with cataract and retina surgical stations, a dry-lab area with a state-of-the-art cataract refractive suite and virtual reality stations.
