Ace Vision Group Adds Four Ophthalmologists to Medical Advisory Board; Launches New Corporate and Medical Affairs Websites im

Ace Vision Group announced the addition of Cathleen McCabe, MD;  James Katz, MD; Ehsan Sadri, MD; and Dagny Zhu, MD, to its medical advisory board. These prominent ophthalmologists will contribute expertise to advance the development and implementation of novel solutions for eye health, specifically Laser Scleral Microporation (LSM), a laser therapeutic designed to rejuvenate the eye’s natural Dynamic Range of Focus (DRoF) function.

LSM allows patients to see clearly at all distances, from near to far and far to near, with the eye’s natural functionality, according to Ace. The VisioLite laser is planned to be the first in-office laser therapeutic for presbyopia, and while not available in the United States, pilot studies outside of the US are showing statistically significant results. Data collected from 100 eyes of 50 patients in an IRB registered pilot study at Asian Eye Institute, principal investigator Robert T. Ang, have demonstrated sustained results through 2 years.

Ace Vision Group also announced it is launching a newly updated corporate website and has created a dedicated medical affairs website to introduce this new technology opportunity and provide awareness for its unique approach to age-related vision loss.

“The addition of the accomplished physicians gives Ace Vision Group the specialty expertise it needs to truly innovate in this important and complex space,” said Mitchell A. Jackson, MD. “It demonstrates the company’s strong commitment to a comprehensive research and clinical approach to pioneer a new laser therapeutic genre in the ophthalmic space for treating the age-related loss of vision that comes with presbyopia.”

Ace Vision Group's rejuvenation therapy offers new solutions to presbyopia that treat the etiology instead of the symptom, giving hope with an in-office therapy that can treat the patient throughout the lifecycle of this aging disease. Since LSM is not a vision correction procedure and can be modulated to fit any patient’s age, the therapy can treat the progressive problem and give sustainable function by rejuvenating visual age, according to a company news release.

“LSM therapy gives us an opportunity to treat our patients at any stage of presbyopia and continue to treat them throughout their aging cycle, so that they have sustainable and functional vision, restoring their eyes’ natural dynamic focusing power for years,” said James Katz, MD “The clinical data with the Gen I device shows an average of 14.5 years of rejuvenation of visual age, which gives our patients the function they need without the compromise of refractive surgery.”
