Horizon Surgical Systems Appoints Rajesh K. Rajpal, MD, as Chief Strategy and Medical Officer

Horizon Surgical Systems announced the appointment of Rajesh K. Rajpal, MD, as its Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) and Chief Medical Officer (CMO). Dr. Rajpal brings decades of experience as a surgeon, innovator, and industry executive, with a track record in advancing ophthalmic technologies and guiding companies through clinical, regulatory, and commercial milestones.

In his dual role, Dr. Rajpal will help shape Horizon’s overall strategy, clinical development, and long-term growth. The appointment comes as Horizon is preparing for its first-in-human study of the company’s Polaris robotic platform.

Dr. Rajpal is the Founder and Medical Director of See Clearly Vision Group in Washington DC. 

Previously, Dr. Rajpal served as Chief Medical Officer and Global Head of Clinical, Medical, and Professionals Affairs at Johnson & Johnson Vision; Chief Medical Officer, Corneal Health, Glaukos; and Chief Medical Officer of Avedro.
